Propane Gas Delivery Options

    1. Nantucket Energy customers who wish to get their propane the standard “Nantucket” way - via automatic delivery - can sign up for Automatic Delivery service.  Electronic tank monitoring is available at no charge, and your fuel will be delivered as needed.

    2. Automatic Plan customers can save additional moneys by utilizing our Prompt Payment Discount.  The Automatic Plan, especially when coupled with electronic tank monitoring will ensure that you never run out of fuel.

    3. Customers who purchase 500 gallons of fuel per year or more will receive electronic tank monitoring at no additional charge.  Customers purchasing less than 500 gallons per year from Nantucket Energy may be required to pay a small monthly fee for electronic tank monitoring.
    4. Customers with less than twelve (12) months of payment history with Nantucket Energy will be required to maintain a major credit card on file to ensure payment.  The Prompt Payment Discount  will apply to Automatic Plan customers.

    1. Based on your fuel usage, we will work with you to develop a fixed monthly payment plan for your yearly fuel needs.  For the budget-conscious household the Budget Plan allows for stability and consistency in the payment of monthly fuel bills.  The Budget Plan allows you to anticipate your fuel payments and avoid getting those large “surprise” bills in the middle of the heating season.  Preferred enrollment for the Budget Plan is April-June.*

Deliveries will be performed automatically and electronic tank monitoring is available for a small monthly fee that goes away the more gas you use – standard residential heating customers will likely pay no monthly fee at all.  Don’t forget that Budget Plan customers can also save additional money by utilizing our Prompt Payment Discount.

    3. Budget Plan customers can avoid large “surprise” bills by having a fixed monthly payment for their estimated fuel needs.  Customers will be required to provide their estimated gallons per year usage and must purchase at least 500 gallons of fuel a year from Nantucket Energy in order to qualify for the Budget Plan.

    4. To calculate their monthly payment, the customer's usage for the previous year is totaled and then divided by 11.   Payments are made by the customer the first of every month based on the resulting calculation.  In the twelfth month, Nantucket Energy reconciles the account with the remaining balance due.  Accordingly, the Budget Plan formula is as follows: Usage /11 x price = monthly payment.

    5. The Prompt Payment Discount will apply to Budget Plan customers.  Provided they are purchasing at least 500 gallons of fuel per year, Budget Plan customers will receive electronic tank monitoring at no additional charge.  A customer must also have a primary gas-fired system on their property such as residential heat, a pool heater or gas-fired hot water to qualify for the Budget Plan.  Budget Plan accounts for cooking gas or gas dryers only will not be accepted.  

    6. Any credit remaining on a Budget Plan account at the end of the year will be applied only to credit for fuel from Nantucket Energy or the credit may be “rolled over” into a new Budget Plan for the following year.   Credits on a Budget Plan account are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Customers on the Budget Plan with less than twelve (12) months of payment history with Nantucket Energy will be required to maintain a major credit card on file with the office to ensure payment.

  3. Option PRE BUY: Lock in your fuel price for a guaranteed amount of fuel by pre-buying a block of fuel to meet your needs. Click to read more....  
    1. Available on an annual basis only.  |  Preferred enrollment: August-September.

    2. Nantucket Energy’s Pre-Buy Plan allows customers to lock into a price for a certain number of gallons or a “block” of fuel by paying in advance for their fuel needs.

    3. The Pre-Buy plan is available on an annual basis only and requires a minimum annual purchase of 750 gallons in order to qualify for the plan.  A customer must also have a primary gas-fired system on their property such as residential heat, a pool heater or gas-fired hot water in order to qualify for the Pre-Buy Plan.  Pre-Buy accounts for cooking gas or gas dryers only will not be accepted.

    4. Once a year has transpired from the date of sign-up, the customer’s account is reconciled.  Any credit remaining on account at the end of the year will be applied only to credit for fuel from Nantucket Energy or the credit may be “rolled over” on a one-time basis into a new Pre-Buy Plan for the following year.  Because Nantucket Energy must also pre-buy fuel to service Pre-Buy Plan customers, payments made on Pre-Buy accounts are non-refundable and non-transferable.   Payment is due in full at the time the customer signs up for the Pre-Buy Plan.  Deliveries will be made to the customer automatically. Pre-Buy Plan customers will receive electronic tank monitoring at no additional charge.  Remember that the Prompt Payment Discount  does not apply to Pre-Buy Plans because the customer pays up front for their gas at a reduced rate.

    1. Will Call service is essentially service on demand.  If you don’t use large amounts of fuel or want to control when you want deliveries then you can simply call or e-mail when you need fuel.  Electronic monitoring of Will Call tanks is available for a small monthly fee.

    2. Will Call Plan customers call or e-mail the office when they need gas.  Will Call customers may pay a special delivery fee if gas is needed immediately.  Otherwise deliveries are made when scheduled into Nantucket Energy’s fuel management system (usually a few days).

    3. Will Call customers are required to keep a major credit card on file with the Nantucket Energy office or to pay for fuel at the time of delivery.  Will Call customers are required to pay a monthly electronic tank monitoring fee and the Prompt Payment Discount  is not available for Will Call customers.
